I had made the reservation some weeks ago for 4 people for lunch and unfortunately had a call from one of your team at 9.30 in the morning prior to a 12.30 lunch. The colleague said that I should leave extra time to get to you and explained there would be ‘thousands of people arriving for an event’. I was also told to expect very slow service. I asked why I had not been given more warning about this because I was unable to change travelling plans. On reflection it felt as if we weren’t particularly important to you so sadly I cancelled and made other, slightly hasty arrangements to eat elsewhere. The four of us, all separate households love visiting you and were disappointed by the way this reservation had been handled. I presume you had an amazing day but four regular visitors feel somewhat neglected.

Efficient friendly staff. Limited menu choice but we all chose the fish which was beautifully cooked. Delicious

We’d booked a table for 9am but they didn’t seem to open until 10 past. Food was good. But £4.50 for 2 pieces of toast seemed steep.

Have visited twice. If only I lived closer. The food is absolutely delicious. Portions are so generous. On my second visit I had full English breakfast. 3 sausages, maybe 6 rashers bacon, so many cherry tomatoes and tiny button mushrooms, two fried eggs and sourdough toast. Only complaint is that there could have been more butter on the toast. I didn’t ask for more but I’m certain had I it would have been forthcoming. I couldn’t finish my breakfast and a takeaway box was offered. Cakes and pastries looked so good. Next time. Well done Symondsbury.

Great service from the ladies serving us but sadly both our omelettes and chips were overcooked. This has never happened before so I hope that this is a one off because you were very busy.

Excellent portion of cod, v good omelette and pulled pork. My toastie yesterday was just slightly overcooked on this occasion and hence a little tough. Filling good as always.
